Spring has sprung and an announcement or two.

Spring Portrait

Spring has finally sprung (fingers crossed), and the sun is once more shining. It’s been a busy few months for me and I admit I haven’t had much spare time. Still it has been for good reasons, so I am happy to make several announcements.

Firstly effective immediately I will no longer be taking on wedding work, I will honour any bookings that are already made. This is a personal work life balance decision and is one that I took seriously for both my own interests and just as importantly that of my clients. I hugely enjoy weddings but they are not my true passion and I want to pursue what I love most. The huge time required that every wedding needs and deserves is an amount of time that I simply do not have available. If I cannot give something 100% I would rather recommend some of my talented friends to capture your special day. This brings me onto my second piece of news, and one that has influenced the first.

Within the next month I will be opening a studio space, where I can shoot portraiture and make-over shoots. It will be located in Exhall, Coventry just 2 miles from Bedworth railway station. The venue may also be available for hire for those looking for a local space to shoot and practice. Rates and prices will be available soon.

Lastly the image, the lovely Loretta Hope  who accompanied me into the woodland to help me trial my new Quantum Qflash lights.  We didn’t have very long but I have to say I am happy with the quality of light from these wonderful pieces of kit. The extra power over a speedlite will serve me well. The light was used with a McGillicuddy 36″ beauty dish.

Nice one Matt!! I made the same decision about weddings and I think it’s the right one to only do what you feel passionate about. I am sure you are going to have massive success with the new studio space!

Matt – this is the right decision for you I guess. I’m thrilled and wish you all the best with the new studio. Good luck my friend.
